Hello guys, I've already had the opportunity to read 'Night of Your Life' and I must say I am very satisfied with the localization. I'm excited because I really like the direction it took; in fact, I find it easier to understand since I was compelled to tell a story knowing that English-speaking readers do not have access to 'Momentos de Caos Pt.1 and Pt.2', so dialogues referencing Orlando or Paulo's rescue were removed.

Another important thing is that the comic is 100% the same, and there are no new scenes. Only the introduction was changed with new drawings that summarize the story. This time, the story is narrated by James, which makes it easier for the reader to understand who the story is about.

During the working process with Kodi, I told him that if he felt something was missing from the story, I was open to him drawing new scenes to expand the story (I was willing to make that sacrifice). However, the good news is that upon reading, the story feels quite complete, and the way Kodi adapted my script turned out very well. He also didn’t ask me to create new scenes, which is perfect for me.

A tentative but risky idea for me was to add more scenes, but since I haven't finished defining what my Fifth Comic will be, I don't want the extended ending to affect the future or direction of the new comic.

I've noted a couple of changes I want to make myself, but there is a dialogue I sent to Kodi for him to rework; it’s a scene that I also struggled with in Spanish because I was afraid of falling into cliché. I did what I could, but I think this is the opportunity to improve it in English.

I was reviewing it, and I might make changes to the art. I will show Kodi a couple of proposals and consult him on what might be best for the tone of the story.

I want to share that I have four stories written, of which I don’t know which will be the next printed comic:

The first story is set before 'De Noche hace Calor'; it was going to be included, but since it was 16 pages, it felt too much in addition to the 30 pages of story. In those pages, Raúl is introduced and the rescue of the character Paulo is shown. This comic was sketched by me, and I inked several pages, but I never finished inking it. I worked on this project without Roberto's support and intended to release it before or perhaps after 'De Noche hace Calor,' but in the end, I decided to discard this project.

This is an extra story; I don’t remember when it was written. I think it was after working on 'De Noche hace Calor'; I wanted to create a completely different story, unrelated to the previous chapters. I made several sketches in one of my notebooks, with James and Kevin as the protagonists.

In 2024, Roberto and I had a meeting and worked on a completely new story with only two established characters, James and Caín, in a totally new adventure. We drew 8 new characters and made significant progress. I was going to start sketching the script, but due to time conflicts, I decided to prioritize finishing 'Disculpa la Angustia,' so 2024 was dedicated to completing that project.

In 2025, there's a new story. I already have two settings for the new story and a new villain. I've written part of the script, but I'm having trouble with the direction.

My problem is that I don’t know how many comics I can finance myself, and each project takes a lot of time to develop:

Momentos de Caos Pt. 2 (4 months)
Momentos de Caos Pt. 1 (2 months)
De Noche hace Calor (due to a hiatus, it took 8 years)
Disculpa la Angustia (1 year to illustrate and 1 year to complete the script, totaling 2 years in development).

I believe that by the time I'm recognized for my projects, I won’t be interested in continuing to create comics, and it has been slow and difficult to work on this.

I have explored different social platforms and, after evaluating my experience, I have decided that Instagram is not the best space for my project at this time. Starting today, I will pause my updates on this network. Although I have put a lot of effort and creativity into my content, I feel that I have not managed to connect with the audience I am looking for. I appreciate that others may find value on Instagram, but I believe it is time to redirect my efforts toward other platforms where my work can shine better.

I will likely release another comic in Spanish after 'Night of Your Life' that would serve as a continuation of 'De Noche hace Calor', and after that, nothing is confirmed. I hope that in the upcoming events, things start to trend more positively.

Hola chicos, ya tuve la oportunidad de leer 'Night of Your Life' la verdad es que estoy muy satisfecho con la localización, y estoy entusiasmado porque me gusta mucho la dirección que tuvo, de hecho me parece más fácil de etender porque me vi forzado a contar una historia sabiendo que los lectores de habla inglés no tienen acceso a 'Momentos de Caos Pt.1 y Pt.2', por lo tanto se quitaron diálogos que se hablan de Orlando o del rescate de Paulo.

 
Otra cosa importante es que la historieta es 100% la misma y no hay nuevas escenas. Solamente la introdución fue cambiada con nuevos dibujos que dan resumen de la historia, esta vez la historia está narrada por James por lo que ayuda más fácil al lector a entender de quién trata la historia.
Durante el proceso de trabajo con Kodi, le dije que si él sentía que algo faltaba a la historia, le di la puerta abierta a dibujar escenas nuevas para ampliar la historia (yo estaba dispuesto a ese sacrificio), pero la buena noticia es que al leer se siente bastante completa la historia y la forma que Kodi adaptó mi guión quedó muy bueno, él tampoco me pidió crear nuevas escenas lo cual es perfecto para mí.
Una idea tentativa pero peligrosa para mi era añadir más escenas pero, debido a que aún no he terminado de definir lo que será mi Quinta Historieta, no quiero que el final extendido afecte el futuro o la dirección de la nueva historieta.

Ya hice un par de anotaciones para hacer cambios yo, pero hay un diálogo que se le envié a Kodi para volverlo a trabajar, es una escena que a mí también me costó en español porque tenía miedo de caer en lo cliché, hice lo que pude pero creo que esta la oportunidad de mejorarlo en Inglés.
Estaba revisando y es posible que haga cambio en los Artes, voy a mostrarle un par de propuestas a Kodi y me asesore qué puede ser lo mejor para el tono de la historia.

Muchas gracias a todos por estar pendientes! Por el momento me voy a enfocar en este proyecto y a finalizarlo.

Les adelanto que tengo 4 Historias escritas de las cuales no sé cual sea la siguiente historieta impresa:
1) Primera Historia es antes de 'De Noche hace Calor' iba a ser incluída pero por ser 16 páginas me pareció demasiado para ya las 30 páginas de historia, en esas páginas se introduce a Raúl y se muestra el rescate del personaje Paulo, esta historieta fue dibujada en boceto por mi, entinté varias páginas pero nunca la terminé de entintar. Este proyecto lo hice sin el apoyo de Roberto y pensaba sacarlo como antes o talvez después de 'De Noche hace Calor' pero al final terminé descartando este proyecto.

2) Esta es una historia extra, no recuerdo cuando fue escrita, creo que fue después de trabajar 'De Noche hace Calor' quise hacer una historia diferente totalmente desconectada de los capítulos anteriores, hice varios bocetos en uno de mis diarios, con James y Kevin como protagonistas.

 
3) 2024 Roberto y yo tuvimos una reunión, trabajamos en una historia totalmente nueva solamente con dos personajes establecidos James y Caín en una aventura totalmente nueva, dibujamos 8 nuevos personajes y avanzamos bastante, yo iba a empezar a bocetear el guión pero por conflictos de tiempo, decidí priorizar terminar 'Disculpa la Angustia', por lo que 2024 fue para terminar ese proyecto.

4) 2025, Una nueva historia, ya tengo dos escenarios donde va a ser la nueva historia y un nuevo villano, he escrito parte del guión pero estoy teniendo problemas con la dirección.

Mi problema es que no se cuántas historietas puedo financiar yo mismo y cada proyecto lleva mucho tiempo en realizarse:
* Momentos de Caos Pt. 2 (4 meses)
* Momentos de Caos Pt.1 (2 meses)
* De Noche hace Calor (debido a un hiatus, tomó 8 años)
* Disculpa la Angustia (1 año en ilustrar y 1 año en terminar el guión, un total de 2 años en desarrollar).

Pienso que para el momento que yo ya sea reconocido por mis proyectos ya no voy a estar interesado en seguir haciendo historietas y ha sido lento y duro trabajar en esto.

He explorado diferentes plataformas sociales y, tras evaluar mi experiencia, he decidido que Instagram no es el mejor espacio para mi proyecto en este momento. A partir de hoy, pausaré mis actualizaciones en esta red. Aunque he puesto mucho esfuerzo y creatividad en mi contenido, siento que no he logrado conectar con la audiencia que busco. Aprecio que otros puedan encontrar valor en Instagram, pero creo que es hora de redirigir mis esfuerzos hacia otras plataformas donde mi trabajo pueda brillar mejor.

Probablemente después de liberar 'Night of Your Life' libere otra historieta en Español que quedaría como la continuación de 'De Noche hace Calor' y después no hay nada confirmado. Espero que los siguientes eventos las cosas vayan apuntando de forma más positiva.

[EN] 'Night of Your Life' Is the English Title for the Comic Book 'De Noche hace Calor'

Good morning, guys! I want to start the day with a nice announcement. First, happy birthday to my friend Kodi, and second, yesterday he sent me the files for the English version of "De Noche hace Calor." In fact, I already took the liberty of creating a printed proof to read the changes in its localization compared to the version I translated. These weeks I will be doing revisions and seeing if any changes are necessary. This comic will be launched this year, and I hope it’s in the middle of the year; hopefully, I will have it much earlier!

Now, for this special occasion, I confirm that the English title of this comic will be "Night of Your Life."

The title is inspired by a song made by Julia Volkova with Sergey Galoyan. I think I have kept that title in mind since 2017, but over the years I considered translating "De Noche hace Calor" literally into English, but I wasn't convinced. I think the same thing happened with the comic. It became an adaptation rather than a literal translation.

As I said in January, there were many changes. I had to remove many 'Nica' humor jokes because there was no way to translate them; it's something cultural that transcends language barriers. The comic is a bit more serious and has a direction more focused on action. Another big change was not using the word "demon" because I feel that getting pigeonholed into that genre doesn't resonate with the North American audience; they find it very cliché.

Two new arts of Ella and James were done in December 2024 with 2M illustration and design, but for now, the cover and back cover have already been designed for quite some time. We'll see if I modify the final arts after reading it.

Although the comic is aimed at an American audience (the localization is precisely for that), I will sell a couple of copies here in Nicaragua for bookstores and expos. I’m excited to have a comic printed in another language for the first time. My other dream is to make one in Dutch.
For now, there are no plans for how it will be presented outside the country; I have no budget, no visa, nothing—just a dream.

One change I'm considering for now is whether to keep the "ü" in my last name; I think I’m going to remove it. It will stay Manuel Argüello in Spanish and Manuel Arguello in English.

[ES] 'Night of Your Life' es el título en inglés del cómic 'De Noche hace Calor'

Buenos días chicos! Quiero empezar el día con un bonito anuncio, primero felicidades por su cumpleaños a mi amigo Kodi y segundo, ayer él me envió los archivos de la versión en Inglés para 'De Noche hace Calor', de hecho ya me tomé el adelanto de hacer una prueba impresa para leer los cambios en su localización con la versión que yo traduje. Estas semanas me toca hacer revisiones y ver si es necesario hacer cambios. Esta historieta va a ser lanzada este año y espero que sea a mitad del año, con suerte y la tengo mucho antes!

Ahora por esta ocasión especial les confirmo que el título en Inglés de esta historieta va a ser "Night of Your Life".

El título está inspirado en una canción que hizo Julia Volkova con Sergey Galoyan, creo que desde el 2017 siempre tuve ese título en mente, pero durante los años pensé en traducir de manera literal "De Noche hace Calor" en inglés pero no me convencía, creo que de cierta forma sucede lo mismo con la historieta. Se convirtió en una adaptación y no una traducción literal.

Como dije en Enero, hubieron muchos cambios, muchas bromas de humor 'Nica' las tuve que quitar porque no había forma de traducirlas porque es algo cultural que sobrepasa la barrera del idioma, la historieta es un poco más seria, con una dirección más dirigida hacia la acción. Otro gran cambio fue no usar la palabra "demonio" porque siento que encasillarme en ese género no resuena con la audiencia norteamericana, como que lo ven muy trillado.

Se hicieron 2 nuevos Artes de Ella y James en Diciembre 2024 con 2M ilustración y diseño pero por el momento la portada y contraportada ya estaban diseñadas desde hace bastante tiempo, vamos a ver si modifico los artes finales después de leerla.

Aunque la historieta esta dirigida a un público estadounidense (la localización es precisamente por uno), voy a vender un par de copias aquí Nicaragua para las librerías y Expos . Estoy entusiasmado por tener por primera vez una historieta impresa en otro idioma, mi otro sueño es hacer una en neerlandés.
Por el momento no hay planes de cómo va a ser presentada fuera del país, no tengo presupuesto, ni visa, nada, solamente un sueño.

Un cambio por ahora que estoy pensando es si dejar el "ü" en mi apellido, creo que lo voy a quitar. Se queda Manuel Argüello en español y Manuel Arguello en inglés.
